Support Services

AAAGA's profound impact within the Afghan community in Georgia is deeply rooted in the trust and respect it has earned over time. This trust is the bedrock upon which the organization's ability to serve its clients effectively rests. With a team of dedicated staff members who are themselves respected members of the community, AAAGA delivers a range of direct services tailored specifically to the needs of its Afghan clients.

Central to AAAGA's mission is its commitment to serving all Afghan families, regardless of their immigration status. The organization's direct services encompass a wide array of essential tasks, from assisting with applications and renewals for federal benefits and state and local assistance programs to navigating the complexities of the United States healthcare system. Beyond the paperwork, AAAGA provides invaluable support in scheduling doctor's appointments, providing interpretation, aiding with SSI applications, and guiding clients through accessing Unemployment Benefits. Recognizing the pivotal role of technology in modern life, AAAGA helps clients access vital resources such as free or reduced-cost internet through initiatives like the T-Mobile 10 million projects or internet essential Xfinity.

AAAGA's direct services extend beyond immediate needs to include long-term support, such as assisting students with school enrollment, accessing after-school programs, and providing access to free tutoring services to enhance educational outcomes.

Through its comprehensive approach to direct services, AAAGA meets the immediate needs of Afghan families in Georgia and empowers them to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Family Mentorship and Donations

AAAGA was established by dedicated volunteers and compassionate Georgians with a singular mission: to support newly arrived Afghans in their transition to the United States and to facilitate a smoother resettlement process. From its inception, volunteers have formed the backbone of AAAGA, and their unwavering commitment continues to be the driving force behind our organization's success. At AAAGA, we deeply value the contributions of our remarkable volunteers, who generously donate their time, skills, and expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. They serve as mentors to individuals and families, offering guidance, support, and companionship as newcomers navigate the various challenges of adjustment in a new country.

Our volunteers are pivotal in every aspect of our programs and services, from providing practical assistance with housing, education, and employment to offering emotional support and cultural orientation. Their dedication, empathy, and kindness have touched the lives of hundreds of individuals and families' lives, helping them build brighter futures and feel welcomed and supported in their new communities.

At AAAGA, we recognize that our volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, and we are profoundly grateful for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to our mission. Together, we are making a difference, one connection, friendship, and
